Putting an end to VAT ‘Inspector Raj’, Delhi Govt launches VAT app for traders

New Delhi, June 1 (KNN) In a move that would do away with the process of VAT inspectors visiting the business premises, Delhi Government has launched a mobile app through which the traders can register themselves with the VAT department.

While launching the app on Tuesday here, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said through the DVAT M SEWA app, traders won’t be required to submit application for registration at the departments’ office and all they have to do now is to fill the form online. There is also no need for VAT inspectors visit at their business premises.

He said the mobile application will ensure VAT registration within 24 hours of filing request.

“We have finished inspector raj by introducing several initiatives to benefit traders," he said while talking to the media persons.

Kejriwal said that in the past one year, AAP government has taken several business friendly decisions like ending of inspector raj, reduction of VAT rates on several things.

VAT Commissioner S S Yadav said  due to this app VAT inspectors visit at traders business premises will not be required, instead they will have to upload a picture of their business premises in the app only.
