Rajkot CFC to help MSMEs conduct tests at affordable cost: REA President

Rajkot, Jan 12 (KNN) The Common Facility Centre (CFC) at Rajkot Engineering Research and Testing Centre, which has been recently dedicated by the state chief minister Anandiben Patel, will help the local industries in testing and research at an affordable costs, President of Rajkot Engineering Association (REA), Bhavesh Patel told KNN.

The CFC was established at a cost of Rs 15 crore by REA, in association with state and central government, to test submersible pumps and electric motors for energy efficiency as well as material testing and instrument calibration. On this occasion, CM Patel expressed her pleasure on getting international standard facilities at the door-step of the industry. 

She said that the Common Facility Centre equipped to conduct several tests including Material and Instrument Calibration will boost engineering sector in Rajkot. She shared that this is the state government encourages small and medium scale industries in the state. 

Meanwhile, REA President Patel said the CFC would help the local industries with a reasonable fee. The cost for setting up such a centre is Rs15 crore, he added.

He told that Pump and Motors testing could be done in the centre. The association is planning to expand it with other branches of engineering.

Talking about the skill gap in the industry, Bhavesh Patel said REA will soon start a skill development programme for local labourers to get them skilled.

He said that the state government has a pro-industry approach to boost industry. (KNN Bureau)
