Separate conclave for MSMEs upset small as well as large entrepreneurs in MP

Indore, July 19 (KNN) With the government’s decision to divide the Global Investors’ Summit in Madhya Pradesh into two parts, the large as well and small entrepreneurs are upset over the decision stating that a chance to meet at a common platform to explore business opportunities would be missed this time.

Unlike previous years, MSME conclave this year is going to be organised in September at Bhopal whereas the Global Investor Summit would be held in the last week of October at Indore.

Talking to KNN, Om Dhoot, President, Association of Industries, Madhya Pradesh, said, “The MSMEs meet was always conducted a day before the two day Global Investors’ Summit. But this year, the government has changed the traditional way because of which MSMEs as well as the large investors are dissatisfied.”

“MSMEs in Indore want that the MSME conclave should happen in Indore instead of Bhopal because the MSME strength in Indore is comparatively more,” he continued.

However, elaborating on the reasons for the divide, the AOI chief said, “MSMEs attend this event in large numbers. Last time, the arrangement was made for only 3000 MSMEs but around 5000 MSMEs appeared. This is the reason why government is organizing a different summit for MSMEs.”

“Most of the MSME units act as an auxiliary for the large industries. The biggest disadvantage of the separation of this event is that large investors will not get the opportunity to meet the MSME entrepreneurs and vice versa,” Dhoot said. (KNN/FA)
