SP's failure on law and order front has compelled industrialists to maintain distance from UP: Kalraj Mishra

Lucknow, June 23 (KNN) With the elections due next year, the law and order situation in one of the most crucial states doesn’t seem to be preferring Samajwadi Party Government, according to the state entrepreneurs.

Uttar Pradesh has a central position in the electoral strategies of the national parties as well as within a larger political imaginary. UP has given India eight of its 14 prime ministers.

Union MSME Minister Kalraj Mishra, while talking to reporters in Varanasi on Tuesday, had said that Samajwadi Party has failed on law and order front while people involved in corrupt practices are dominating.

Failure of SP on law and order front, Kalraj alleged, had compelled the industrialists to maintain distance from UP.

The UP entrepreneurs seemed to agree with Mishra’s views.

“People in UP now want to get rid of the SP regime, while they had also seen the corrupt practices of Bahujan Samaj Party. The people are looking towards BJP as an alternative,” Kalraj said.

Talking to KNN, Vipin Malhan, President, Noida Entrepreneurship Association, said “I completely agree with Kalraj Mishra. When a project comes up, people visit places like U.P, Haryana and Gujarat. After all the research, people prefer Gujarat and Haryana over UP. The resources in UP are comparatively less efficient. UP is still waiting for a huge project to enter. Once it enters the state, it will benefit the MSMEs. For instance, Maruti has given business to so many MSMEs in Gurgaon.”

“No big industrialists are showing interest in investment in UP,” said Manish Goel, President, Indian Industries Association.

He continued “The reasons behind this are non-availability of land, high land prices, high electricity costs, non-cooperative government, corruption in the government and many more.”

The blame for lack in investment in UP is directly laid on the Samajwadi Party. So it for us to wait and watch whether the Akhilesh Yadav Government is able to bag the support of the crucial sector or not. (KNN/FA)
