Noida, May 4 (KNN) After Delhi, the agitation against fee hike by private schools has started across the nation especially in the NCR region including Noida, Greater Noida and Gurgaon.

The fees at some reputed private schools in Noida and Greater Noida have been hiked this year.

A group of parents from the region met HRD Minister Smriti Irani to seek action against the schools indulging I ‘arbitrary’ fee hike.

Irani has asked the parents to give her the details about the schools which have hiked the fee and promised to take action against them within 15 days if the allegations turned out to be true, they said.

According to a media report, Niti Shrivastava, president of Gautam Budh Nagar Parents' Association (GBNPA) said that the Minister after listening to their grievances has asked for more details on the issue.

Most private schools in Noida and Greater Noida are affiliated to CBSE and ICSE boards. They are allowed to make one annual fee hike in tune with the infrastructure and facilities according to rules.

Recently, a committee set up by the District Magistrate had found that DPS Noida, DPS Greater Noida, DPS Sector 132, Lotus Valley International Noida, Ryan International Noida, Ryan International Greater Noida and Apeejay School Noida had hiked their fees by over 10%. (ENA Bureau)
