WB MSMEs urge State Transport Minister for procurement from the sector

Kolkata, June 10 (KNN) The West Bengal MSMEs met the State Minister of Transport, Subhendu Adhikary, requesting him to consider micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) for their procurement of various stores, spare parts and repairing job.

In this regard, a small delegation led by Federation of Small and Medium Industries (FOSMI) held a meeting with Adhikary in this regard.

The delegation was led by FOSMI President Biswanath Bhattacharya.

“Bhattacharya requested the Minister to consider MSMEs for their procurement of various stores, spare parts and repairing job etc,” said FOSMI.

Adhikary assured to look into the matter.

On June 8, the Chairman of the West Bengal Pollution Control Board, Dr. Kalyan Rudra met a small delegation from FOSMI to hold discussions for better cooperation between the two.

Also, Amitava Dutta, Assistant Director and Public Relationship Officer of Employee’s State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) addressed the MSMEs at an interactive meeting held on 8 June 2016.

He elaborated on the scope of ESIC coverage for employees in various types of organizations as well as the employers’ role in the matter.

“He touched on various changes in the offing with regard to the provisions of the scheme, the most vital of which is Prime Minister’s dream of covering everybody in the scheme even in remote places,” said FOSMI. (KNN Bureau)
